A Simple Way to Dress More Chic

March 24, 2020
Outfit Details: Jeans – Able (currently on sale), Shirt (old, similar here and here), Earrings: Amazon, Shoes: Carina

We are just a few days away from moving to a character-filled 1940s apartment in the cutest Raleigh neighborhood. So, instead of trying to dig through boxes to find an actual outfit, we’re just going back a few weeks to this all-white outfit for an evening out in San Diego! We’ll be back to shooting more next week!

One of my favorite ways to feel extra chic, or to elevate a budget find, is by wearing all one color. Monochrome is classic and so simple. All white was perfect for an evening out sipping margaritas during a recent California trip, but I love to do this with black in the winter and brighter colors in the summer.

When dressing in all one color, play a bit more with shapes – maybe a puffed sleeve or ruffle shoulder, or mix textures to keep things interested. For this outfit, I paired a silky shirt with more rough jeans. I also love to do a chiffon or silk pants with knit sweater this time of year. It’s an easy way to transition from winter to spring; and only wearing one color makes choosing a chic outfit all the more simple.
